Last week I did a food and beverage shoot for the J Lounge in Davie Village (the best yam fries I have ever tasted). They called me in an hour before they needed the shoot to be done-- an opportunity arose and they had a limited window with their mixologist and executive chef.Talk about ADRENALINE RUSH! 3.7% of my logic said..." WoAhh I'm not prepared...I don't even know what I'll be shooting...what will the surroundings be...??" The other 96.3 % said. "WHOO HOO...ADVENTURE..."
The truth is, I am completely confident in my technical abilities. One of my instructors at Brooks Institute of Photography said once "Discipline reigns freedom." I put the time into learning the skills (and my gear), and the rest is up to vision and creativity. And so...after a little negotiation about pay, I agreed to be there ASAP.
When I got to the shoot I quickly surveyed the surroundings to see what I was dealing with. There were so many possibilities--great colors and fabrics to work with.
I asked the owner and chef what they had in mind for concept. Can you believe they trusted me with complete CREATIVE CONTROL--a feeling that is both overwhelming and exciting.
Because I always like to provide my clients with the choice from a few different looks, (for example high key v.s low key), I did one set up that allowed me to get several effects in very little time.
If you're interested in learning how...I'm always available for tutorials!
CHEERS!

Combining photography AND mojitos...beautiful bliss. Another great job Albach, though I'm not the least bit suprised!!!!
